Riding Down, by far was the best part of the job. Right up next to riding the Gondola down after a long day. There are very few things that come close to the feeling of riding down a mountain on a board. Its a pretty awesome experience to say the least.
Now your probably wondering how I got this photo. Well simple really, you see SharpShooters has photographers all over the mountain. So before we all went up I told Joseph that on my way down I wanted him to snap a couple photos of me along the trees doing some turns. Then I just cropped the image to my liking and there you have it. This is by far one of my favorite images from the “Work on the Mountain” series. I really like the contrast between the whites, blacks and reds. And how could you not love the white aviator sunglasses.

A few weeks ago I was up in Salt Lake photographing a couple of homes. While I was up there I figured I would hit up my old buddy Joseph from SharpShooters. One of the places we shredded was a park with some Jersey barriers. Where Joseph showed me how to wallride them. We didn’t get a shot of me doing a wallride but I got some shots of him doing a couple. All in all it was a good skate day.

Finally locked in the 50-50

Goofy random photo of me (Photo: Joseph)

1..2..Pose!, This is my eight photo in my series of work on the mountain. With this photo I wanted to through down a classic SharpShooter pose, and whats more classic than the scorpion pose. Yeah cheesy I know, but its a big hit with the costumers. Its a pretty versatile pose as well. You see right now I’m doing the tough guy pose with my hands down in front. But if I was a chick I would bring my hands right below my chin (insert awww here). Then if you want to get really complicated you through someone on top of your board laying down. Needless to say it’s near impossible, but its pretty sweet when you can pull it off.

On the top, here is my seventh photo in my series of work on the mountain. Here is a perfect look into how I spend most my overcast snowy days on top of the mountain. This day in particular was a super slow day as you can see by no one in the background. I thought this photo turned out pretty darn for being one of those hand held my space photos.

A couple Saturdays ago I cruised down to Greenwood skatepark in AF to photograph Volcoms Wild in the Park. This is its third year running and every year they kick off there North American tour in AF in all places. The whole idea of the tour is to provide an awesome free competition to any and all skateboarders. There all competing for the chance at invites to this years $25,000 WITP championships in Arizona. Its really awesome to watch especially because all my buds skate in it every year. Some of which include Justin Long, Chandler Seipert, and Brodie Penrod. Brodie Penrod is actually reigning champion 3 years running. Last year he placed 1st in the Arizona championships in the pro-am category. And I’m sure he will do it again this year.
Here are a couple gif’s I got shot with my D700 at 8fps. As you can tell by the first clip its hard to compose when your not looking threw the eye piece. Instead I went with the technique of holding it 6” of the ground and being able to get out of the way quick when needed. As for the still photos from the competition. They are actually posted up on SLUG magazines website which you can view exclusively [ here. ]

Ryan with a bs tail to shuv out (he landed better solid later on)
