Joseph Wallride

A few weeks ago I was up in Salt Lake photographing a couple of homes. While I was up there I figured I would hit up my old buddy Joseph from SharpShooters. One of the places we shredded was a park with some Jersey barriers. Where Joseph showed me how to wallride them. We didn’t get a shot of me doing a wallride but I got some shots of him doing a couple. All in all it was a good skate day.

Bryan & Vanessa Maternity Photos

Today I had the pleasure of photographing Bryan and Vanessa Larsen’s maternity photos. We decided on going up American Fork canyon to do so, it was beautiful up there. Here are six photos of the many we made that I really liked.

Self-Portrait Day 25|365

Today is our last day in St. George but before we left I wanted to check out the St. George skatepark. Or as they call it the SK8 George skatepark (insert laugh here). The last time I skated that park was back in the day with my buddy Skyler and the whole time we were there it rained, so it was nice to have the dry concrete. I knew before even setting up the shot that I wanted to shoot it with my fisheye lens on a quarter pipe. Just so I could get that cool distortion you get with those lenses. So lucky for me I found a quarter pipe that I could put my sun to my back and some flashes in front to fill in the shadows. My dad was a real trooper with this shot, he laid on the ground with the camera for a good 30 photos (thank you dad).

Trigger man: JR Thompson

Strobist: One SB600 to camera right. Another SB800 on camera for fill.

Camera info: Nikon D700 | 16mm ƒ/2.8 Fisheye | ƒ/14 | 1/250th | Triggered with CS.

Self-Portrait Day 12|365

Today was one of my days off and I haven’t done an outdoor portrait yet. So I figured it was about time. With this image I really wanted it to be all natural light just to prove you can get an awesome image without flashes, and that’s exactly what it is. It turned out pretty good because it was a pretty overcast day. Everywhere you went was amazing soft light, perfect for portraits. Also I was reminded why I wasn’t so eager to jump outside and do a self-portrait…its COLD! We froze. But we got a good image out of it all so it was all worth it. Just a note in post processing the image I added a slight cooling effect because it didn’t look as cold as it felt.

Trigger lady: Judy Thompson

Strobist: All natural light, overcast skies.

Camera info: Nikon D700 | 50mm ƒ/1.4 G | ƒ/2.2 | 1/160th | ISO 200 |
