Self-Portrait Day 29|365 Hoodlum

Must be in a dark mood or something considering my last portrait was pretty dark and now this one is too. I actually have been wanting to do a photo like this for a long time. Where my main lights are simply rim lights on either side. I was planning on my face going super dark because of it. But since my studio is a super small white room I got some light bounce back on my face and liked it. So I decided to put a silver reflector below me to kick up even more light and give me some creepy catch lights as well. I really like how the zipper pops and leads into the curves in the hood. It took me a while to get the hood looking right but after a few hours I finally got it. I’m pretty pleased with this photo it just might be one of my favorites.

Trigger man: Myself

Strobist: Two SB600s on eitherside behind me with umbrellas. Another SB800 behind me for a background light. One silver reflector below and in front.

Camera info: Nikon D700 | 50mm ƒ/1.4 | ƒ/5.6 | 1/320th
